Behind the Paint: How We Stay Green
Our Environmental Policy Statement
Foxhills Body Shop, Scunthorpe
Version 1: 20th July 2025
At Foxhills, we don’t just care about cars — we care about what happens around them too.
We’re committed to doing our bit to reduce waste, minimise our environmental impact, and operate responsibly in our local community.
What We Do
-
Recycle wherever possible
We sort and recycle paint tins, cardboard packaging, and metal parts as part of our regular operations. -
Dispose of waste responsibly
All hazardous materials (like paint, solvents, and thinners) are handled in line with UK environmental guidelines and collected by licensed disposal services. -
Use low-emission products
We prioritise high-efficiency, low-VOC paints and materials — better for air quality, staff health, and the environment. -
Avoid unnecessary part replacements
Where we can repair instead of replace, we do — reducing landfill and cost. -
Reduce energy use
We monitor usage and switch off equipment when not in use. Our spray booth runs on an energy-efficient cycle.
Looking Ahead
We’re always looking for ways to improve — whether that’s smarter lighting, greener transport, or better recycling methods.

About This Page
This is where we set out the important stuff — how we work, how we protect your data, and what you can expect from us.
We’ve kept the language clear and human — but if you’re short on time…
TL;DR – The Short Version
"Too Long; Didn’t Read” — a quick summary of the key points if you just want the gist. Also ideal for speech activated search tools such as Alexa and Siri.
We keep things simple, clear, and fair:
-
We’ll always quote upfront — and stick to it
-
Deposits are only taken when needed (and explained)
-
You can cancel if you give 24+ hours’ notice
-
Not happy with the result? Tell us — we’ll make it right
-
Your data stays safe, and we’ll never spam or sell it
-
We treat every customer with respect — and adapt where needed
Want the full details? You’re in the right place. Got a quick question instead?

What You’re Agreeing To
When you book a repair with us, you’re agreeing to let our team carry out the agreed work on your vehicle using professional-grade tools, products, and techniques.
We’ll confirm the work in writing before we begin and give you a quote you can rely on.
Complaints & Redos
We want you to leave happy. If something’s not quite right, we’ll do everything we can to make it so.
Not happy with the repair?
Let us know within 7 days of collecting your car. Ask for Andy Johnson, Owner/Manager, or email us directly at hello@foxhillsbodyshop.co.uk. You can also call us on
+44 1724 897 949.
We’ll:
-
Listen to what went wrong — no defensiveness, no faff
-
Inspect the issue and agree next steps
-
Offer a redo or correction if the issue relates to quality of finish, paint match, or something we’ve missed
Repairs can’t be “returned” — but we do stand by our work, and we’ll put things right if we’ve fallen short.
What’s not covered:
-
New or unrelated damage
-
Issues outside the scope of the agreed job
-
Changes of mind or preference after the work is done
We’re proud of our track record — and we take any issues seriously. You’ll always deal with a named person, not a faceless system.
Deposits & Cancellations
When We Ask for a Deposit
If your repair needs parts ordering in advance, we’ll ask for a deposit when you book. This secures your slot and covers the cost of those parts.
Once parts are ordered, the deposit is non-refundable - as we can’t return them.
Cancelling a Booking
Need to cancel? No problem - just give us at least 24 hours’ notice and we’ll refund in full.
If you cancel later than that - or we’ve already ordered parts - we may retain part or all of the deposit to cover costs.
We think that’s fair - and it helps us keep prices honest for everyone.
Quotes & Booking Conditions
How Long Is a Quote Valid?
Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date we send them, unless otherwise stated.
If prices change (for parts, paint, or materials), or if extra damage is discovered on inspection, we’ll always let you know before starting work.
What Booking Confirms
Booking a repair confirms:
-
You’ve accepted the quoted work
-
You agree to the terms in this document
-
You’re happy for us to begin
Once booked, you’ll receive confirmation with all the details.
Warranty on Workmanship
All our repairs come with a 12-month workmanship guarantee.
This covers:
-
Paint finish
-
Colour match
-
Any defects related to the original job
It doesn’t cover:
-
New damage
-
General wear and tear
-
Issues caused by poor maintenance (e.g. washing with harsh chemicals)
If you spot something that looks off, just let us know — we’ll always take a look and do right by you.
Your Right to Choose Us (Insurance Repairs)
Even if your insurer suggests their own repairer — you can ask for us.
Just let your insurance company know you’d like the work done at Foxhills Body Shop.
We’ll handle the whole process:
-
Liaise with your insurer
-
Manage the paperwork
-
Carry out the repairs to approved standards
-
Keep you updated throughout
-
You’ve got the right to choose who works on your car — and we’ll make sure it’s done properly.
Vehicle Condition on Arrival
When your car arrives, we may take photographs to record its condition — this protects both you and us.
We can’t be responsible for:
-
Existing damage that wasn’t part of the agreed repair
-
New issues that arise outside our care (e.g. unrelated mechanical faults)
-
If anything unexpected is spotted, we’ll let you know straight away.

To keep things safe and legal:
-
Your car must be taxed, insured, and roadworthy
-
Please make sure it’s accessible and ready for handover
Ask us when booking if this service would help.
